Appearance: Hector is a stout fellow, standing at a mere five feet, five inches, yet weighing just over two hundred pounds. Much of his weight is muscle, though he is not particularly well defined in any one area. Preferring to wear bright colors that contrast his skin tone, he will often don floral patterned shirts that combine reds, yellows, and varying shades of violet. Khaki shorts are his preferred leg-wear, the sort with a multitude of pockets for storing nothing in particular. More often than not, Hector will don sandals or flip-flops when going out and about.

Personality:  Hector is a very laid back individual. He prefers not to get involved in potentially strenuous situations, and will go out of his way to avoid conflicts. When such a situation arises, he will do everything in his power to worm his way out of it. More often than not, however, he is unable to do so, in which case he is forced to act in a moderately more aggressive manner until it is resolved. Considering how carefree he seemed as a child, his parents were quite surprised at how much effort he put into the work they assigned him around the ranch. Hector reasons that he was only trying to make things easier on them, as hiring more folks to take care of the ranch would result in profits taking a nosedive.

Throughout his academic career, Hector never once displayed any sort of abnormal intellect. His supervisors assumed that his lackadaisical attitude was the cause of his mediocre grades, and that he would prove to be brilliant if he applied himself. They were wrong. It wouldn't be fair to call him stupid, but Hector is certainly not the sharpest bulb in the crayon box. Small details get by him very easily, and he has trouble focusing on the big picture. He isn't the sort of person you can rely on to develop a plan, especially when under pressure.

He is usually a very pleasant person to be around. That is, if you enjoy hanging out with the dangerously optimistic. Hector tries his hardest to see the good in everything and everyone. He takes insults with a smile, and rarely displays any sort of malice. The saccharine disposition that he displays is often mistaken for gullibility. This is not the case, however. Hector, despite his apparent air-headedness, has a knack for seeing through the deceit of others, and does not appreciate any attempts to exploit his kindness.

History: A quaint ranch just miles from the shore of Meteor Lake; an idyllic location to raise a gaggle of children. To Mark and Allie Abrams, inheriting the twenty acre establishment from the former's parents was a godsend. The couple, married for close to five years, had been 'getting busy' quite often, resulting in a considerable increase in the size of their family. Four children had just been too much for their meager apartment in Lunar City to handle.

The eldest of these children, and the entire reason that Mark and Allie had gotten married in the first place, was Hector. He had been conceived several years before the two were to be betrothed. The birth of a bastard child did not sit well with either of their families, and the couple was eventually pressured into holding an extravagant wedding ceremony. They wanted to go through the steps one at a time, but there was little they could do in the face of two groups of imposing, traditional parents.

Hector's school experience was not a memorable one. He spent only a single year in a traditional school before being swept away to the Meteor Lake ranch with the rest of his siblings. From that point on, he was required to take online courses, as tutors were terribly expensive and the nearest school was much too far away to consider sending him. The same was true of his siblings once they reached academic maturity. This method of cyber schooling did not allow for much social interaction, though it did provide him with many opportunities to distract himself. He often failed to respond when called upon, but he did show that he understood the concepts covered in the classes through the assigned coursework.

With his parents so keen on getting the ranch up and running, Hector was often tasked with taking care of his siblings. He didn't mind. In fact, it was quite a disappointment when his mother and father managed to turn the ranch into a profitable business and were able to hire a pair of nannies for the tots. They did everything differently, and it irked him so. Despite this, he let them go about their work unimpeded, knowing that they wouldn't be needed in a few years time.

With his siblings under control, Hector decided to volunteer his free time to helping around the ranch. It wasn't the largest of places, but any little thing that a child could do was a great deal of help. Mark and Allie primarily assigned him the tedious task of cleaning out the barn in which the Miltank they'd purchased resided. The amount of waste that those heifers produced was staggering. He proved to be quite skilled at taking care of the mess though, resulting in his parents expanding his responsibilities. They all revolved around those Miltank; feeding, milking, keeping them in their designated location while they grazed. These were no easy tasks.

Hector continued to aid his parents for some time after graduating from the cyber high-school that he attended. It was honest, difficult work, but it was enjoyable. Being around Pokemon, that is. There was something amazing about them - beyond their fantastical abilities - that humans just didn't possess.

Some months ago, before the thought of leaving his home on the ranch to explore the world even entered Hector's mind, a disturbance in the barn occurred. In the wee hours of the night, a terrible clamor erupted from the candy red structure, jolting him awake and prompting him to rush out to see what precisely was happening. Bursting into the place while half awake and dressed only in a loose tee and boxers hadn't been the best of ideas, but Hector never was known for his plans. It wasn't at all surprising to find that a Pokemon was causing the Miltank to act up. A small, green creature surrounded in a constantly undulating membrane. It would have been adorable if it weren't sending ripples of psychic energy every which way.

Not quite a Pokemon aficionado, Hector had no idea how to handle the situation. Luckily, he didn't have to. After pelting the cows with mental energy, the green critter calmed down. It darted toward him, cooing the way newborns do. Deciding that the poor thing had only attacked the Miltank out of fear, Hector escorted it back to the farmhouse, leaving the barn in a disheveled state that his parents were not pleased with. The following morning, Hector managed to scrounge up a Pokeball that wasn't currently in use, and trapped the creature - which he learned was a Solosis - inside.

The two have been together ever since. The aggression displayed that night manifested it from time to time, followed almost immediately by intense cuddling and innocent pleas. The creature's two-faced nature was a bit unsettling at first, but Hector adjusted to it all the same. With a bit of prodding from his mother, he has decided to set out for the Sopax region, where he hopes to have the Solosis, dubbed Zuriel, checked out by the local professor.

Personality: Zuriel is a curious creature. Though generally very pensive and reserved, he is prone to sudden, emotional outbursts that never fail to leave Hector frazzled. The intensity of these outbursts and the feelings expressed vary, but they are never subtle. Moments of blind fury are not uncommon, nor are exhibits of extreme affection. It takes only moments for the Solosis to shift its mood, and seemingly anything can trigger it.
